We are working to mitigate the impacts of bitumen production on the community and the environment. A list has been compiled of potential emission sources at all facilities, including trucking operations, and areas with noticeable odours. We will recommend adopting practices where it’s practical to further eliminate emissions.
A review of trucking operations is underway, including:
- Techniques to minimize odours, especially during loading.
- Strategies to deal with vacuum trucks, which are used during cleanouts of produced sand, from an oil storage tank.
