PRAMP Open House – May 2017

At its first Open House in March 2017, the Peace River Area Monitoring Program (PRAMP) Committee welcomed more than 50 people including area residents, citizens from the Woodland Cree First Nation, local industry operators, and media to ask questions and hear about air monitoring efforts and results in the area. Mike Bisaga, PRAMP Technical Program Manager provided an overview of air monitoring data and trends from 2011 to 2016. Mike noted that since 2013, there has been a marked decline in key air compounds. The reduction in these compounds co-relates with heavy oil emission control measures that have been put in place by the Alberta Energy Regulator.
