Celebrating PRAMP’s Leadership and Legacy

PRAMP’s Annual General Meeting took place on September 11, where we warmly welcomed the County of Northern Lights to the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors for 2025-2026 includes: Baytex Energy, Métis Nation of Alberta, Town of Grimshaw, Northern Sunrise County, Obsidian Energy, Alberta Health Services, CNRL, Woodland Cree First Nation, MD of Smoky River, County of Northern Lights, and three representatives from the community. We value the strategic oversight our diverse Board members offer, as well as their input and support.

Councillor Andre Trudeau has been a representative on the PRAMP Board for the MD of Smoky River for nine years and will be stepping back from the role. Councillor Trudeau played a key role in shaping PRAMP. His knowledge of the region, along with his understanding of the community’s needs and values, has been a tremendous asset. We wish him all the very best!

Bright Ideas: Sponsorships Promote Air Quality Awareness

Our Air Quality Lantern sponsorship program continues to grow, and the community’s response has been incredibly positive. Multiple offices have shared that the lanterns have become increasingly popular and have effectively raised awareness of local air quality.

We’ve had three more Air Quality Lanterns sponsored and installed within the Town of Peace River.

Connecting with 
Community and Nature: PRAMP’s Meet & Greet

Mother Nature gifted us with a beautiful day for our PRAMP Meet & Greet event on September 11. Attendees met with PRAMP staff and participated in an engaging and informative tour led by Norm Brownlee of the Arbo Revitalization Initiative. His expertise introduced us to black walnut trees and several varieties of pine, offering a meaningful opportunity to connect with the community while sharing information about clean air and local ecology.

Shelly Shannon is demonstrating the “worm condo,” which she uses to raise worms for vermicomposting.

Seasonal Scents Without Candles: Simmer Pot Satchel Event

We’re delighted to partner with the Peace River Municipal Library for a “Simmer Pot Satchel” workshop on December 10, just in time to add a warm and cozy touch to your home as winter settles in. Each participant will craft and take home several aromatic simmer pot satchels, perfect for filling your space with comforting seasonal scents without the need for candles, which can release particulate matter into the air. We’re hoping to bring this workshop to other community libraries soon. Stay tuned to @prampairshed on Facebook and Instagram for all the details!

Engaging Community: Parade of Programs

PRAMP participated in the 2025 Parade of Programs on September 4 in Peace River. In just two hours, our booth welcomed 65 visitors. Several groups expressed interest in future resentations and workshops, including two 4-H Clubs and the local Homeschool Association. We’re excited for the opportunity to expand our reach and engage with new audiences.
