Your Regional Airshed
Established in 2016, the Peace River Area Monitoring Program (PRAMP) is one of Alberta’s 10 regional Airshed organizations. We monitor air quality in the Peace River area, including hydrocarbon emissions in the Three Creeks and Reno regions.
Our Mission
We operate an ambient air quality monitoring program in the Peace River area that provides credible and comprehensive data for the community, industry, and governments.
Our Vision
Air quality monitoring and reporting for communities, industries, and governments that support a healthy environment in the Peace River area.
Funding and Partners
Funding from heavy oil operators through the Oil Sands Monitoring Program sustains the ongoing monitoring of industrial emissions and community monitoring. PRAMP relies on a grant provided by Alberta Environment and Protected Areas (AEPA) to support air quality education and outreach. The program also benefits from hundreds of hours of in-kind support from community members, industry representatives, and municipal representatives.
As a proud member of the Alberta Airsheds Council , PRAMP values our ongoing partnership with the nine other Airsheds across the province. Together, we are advancing technical learning, building strong relationships with government representatives, and developing shared tools and resources that benefit all Albertans.
PRAMP has also received funding from Northern Sunrise County, companies, and community organizations that have generously sponsored Air Quality Lanterns.
Membership
There are several benefits to a PRAMP membership. For some industry members, it is part of regulatory compliance and eliminates the need for air monitoring repetition. Other benefits include access to air quality expertise, a forum for working with other stakeholders, and support for effective public engagement on air quality issues. PRAMP’s membership includes local governments, Indigenous communities, community representatives, and industry operators. If you or your organization is interested in becoming a PRAMP member, please contact us.
